crowe-t Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) I might be getting some paint from Bob's Paints. What prep needs to be done to use Bob's Paints since they are PPG lacquer? What thinner(s) can be used to thin the paint? Edited January 28, 2017 by crowe-t
High octane Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Since I'm a "rattle can man," I don't use Bob's paints, however I know him well and he's a great guy to talk to. Either call him or e-mail him and I'm sure he can & will answer all your questions. BTW his Kustom Khrome is really nice if you need any parts re-plated. And NO I don't get a commission either.
peter31a Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Bob usually recommends medium temp lacquer thinner. It will need to be thinned 100% or more. You will need to experiment some with a spare body or spoons. Of course automotive primer will need to be laid down first.
