CountryJoe Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Was just just wonderin' if anyone has ever done and/or seen a scratch built "top up" convertible top done on a kit?
AC Norton Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 not sure over the years if I have seen a totally scratch built one, but I have seen tops of various types customized and altered to fit a particular project,,,,,maybe you should throw us a bit more info here, Joe, to see if an answer can be tailored to your building needs here....the Ace....
CountryJoe Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 Good point Ace, I can see where that'd be helpful! I've been kinda butcherin' the heck outta a '49 Merc for a loooong time now and thought it "might" make a cool convertible. Thought that if I tried overlayin' something over the hard top I wouldn't get the true ragtop look... and then there'd be the inside to worry about. So, naturally I wonder'd if there was another route to take.
stitchdup Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 the amt 50 ford convert or revell 48 ford (custom version) might be a good place to start, the tops dont look too far away shape wise
CountryJoe Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 stitch'd The '50 looks like a really nice place to start... appreciate the help!
