Jordan White
I'll be building a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500. It will have the 8.0L V10, 5-speed manual, 4x4, and will be the extended cab-long bed configuration with the Sport trim package. The kits I'm using are the Revell Ram VTS, AMT Ram 2500, and yes, the Meng F350! SAM_0229 by mudder_trucker8 The F350 will be providing the chassis and drivetrain (minus the engine/trans), the AMT kit will provide the cab extension, long box, tailights, and rear bumper, and the Revell kit will provide most of the rest of the parts. Here's the combined cab and the long bed, I still have to do some final work on the cab. SAM_0230 by mudder_trucker8, on Flickr Finally, here's the chassis in its current state. I had to remove 3/4" from the frame, as well as rearrange a few pieces to get it in a similar configuration to the Dodge chassis. Jordan White
I haven't had a chance to do much in the way of updating lately, been flipping between 3 different builds! I'll try to remember to post some pics tonight, but I did get the cab pretty much completed, with it currently sitting in primer. The bed required some square tube placed between the fenders and the inner box to straighten out the sides, and I will have to add the ribbing to the bottom as well. I also received a set of of wheels and tires from Joseph at Fireball Modelworks which will give it some height and some attitude! I tried to stay more stock in regards to the transmission, but I couldn't find any kits that have a manual that resembles an NV4500. I figure, since I don't plan on keeping this totally stock, I will simply use the kit transmission (TR-6060 which is similar to the T56) and say that it was swapped in for the 6th gear and better ratios (I have come across conversion kits to attach a transfer case, so it is a plausible swap).
