anonymous builder table at model contests

I have an idea for a new category for model meets and contests. How about a table displaying old models that we have purchased built up but no one knows who the original builder is? This could be a tribute to early, mostly "out of the box" builds or modified models showing the early years of the hobby. I think it would be fun and a great way to honor the unknown builders. Who knows, maybe someone would recognize a model they built years ago and could give some history to the new owner!

What's goin' on...

I haven't participate in model shows (this may change some day) or clubs but I like your idea. I've known other builders who will buy build ups and then turn around and enter them in a show. To me that just seems to defeat the whole purpose. I thought the idea was to display your talent and labor not to take the credit of someone elses.

I don't think you would find much interest. I think very few people that have models like that would bother entering them in a contest.
