Alright guys, I'm starting a new project. A 70 Monte Carlo SS. The plan is to make it Safari Yellow with a black vinyl top, slammed with some staggered Torq Thrust II's.

This will be my first time doing a vinyl top. I have researched some, but not a lot, and have determined that I will do the spray glue, then paint it semi-gloss method, (as stated here in this topic.....http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/12956-best-way-to-replicate-a-vinyl-top/)

Could one of you guys tell me what size styrene strips (Evergreen Part # would help too, internet purchase) I need to use for the seams on the roof, as well as what size styrene for the chrome trim around the vinyl top?

Thanks in advance,

Scott

I've found the thinner the better for the top seams.

Too thick & they stand up too high, looking out of scale.

I cut very thin strips of .007 clear film that I picked up at Hobby Lobby for the top on my '69 Coronet.

The scale looks about right to me.

Depends on the 1:1 scale your are following some could be wider some narrower. But good rule of thumb is ..20 half round. and the .20 x .10 for the seams.
