1960 el camino

Well today my dad and me went to our local car swap. Since i build and he saw someone there that sold models he told me to look. Well after 5 mins he joined me and i showed him a smp 60 el camino. It was in great condition but i told him its worth alot but my dad asked anyway. He told me the guy wanted 25 but my dad talked him down to 20. It comes with a awsome box, perfect condition el camino and some parts. I will have to track some parts down but i wont restore just do what i have to make it look better. Whatcha think

You got a real gem simply because it hasn't been customized to death, and it still has the "plane" emblems on the sides. Those are irreplaceable!

I've always wanted to kitbash one of those with the AMT 59 El Camino for the much better detailed chassis and maybe even steal the six cylinder out of the their 60 Chevy pickup kit.

However, last thing I need is another project!

Florian,Bill an Phil are both right.You got you a real steal fot 20.00 $.Aclean build w/box is usually about 50.Phil suggests kit bashing it with a 59 Elco.It'll work.If your careful the whole E/C will fit into the 60's E/C,the chassis will fit with no work at all, and you can even use the 59's interior!Even the dash is the same.I know caz I've doneit.Great score, Take yer ol Dad with you more often,He sounds like a good barterer

Zeb,I could'nt help but notice that too.Cant remember the last time I saw a 59 Caddy tail light on a street drivin Anything!Looks to be a 60/61 but wot do I know?

You guys scored bigtime! Seems you might just need to do some paint touchup? add BMF, a little detailing here and there, and you've got a cool model! Be careful of that nice box, they are almost like fine art in my eyes...... But I'm a bit of a box art freak....

thanks for all the comments. Here are my plans. First i will need 2 axel mounts. Itss the place were you poke the axels through and i need 2 of those. After mounting those i will need to track donw the fender skirts rear bed rail custom grill rear tail lights 2 anttenas, roof light push bar and decals and instructions. The skirts will be painted and put in the bed.and so will the push bar and roof light. The custom grill will be put in and so will the anttenas. Then it will be displayed with the box instructions and decals. Anyone know were i can get these parts.
