Glen Powers Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 It seems to me that the instructions are a little vague about the position of the chassis/interior to the body. There are no positive location points molded to either so I wondered what other builders might have done. Also where you found the best places to glue the chassis to the body?I'm thinking the rocker panels and at the front fenders but would be grateful for any advice. Thanks in advance,Glen
espo Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Revell doesn't offer any real information as to where to glue the body and chassis together. As I recall I glued the leading edge of the front inner fender to the inside of the body along with the sides of the chassis to the inside of the body. I suggest gluing the front inner fenders and the radiator support to the chassis first and allow them to dry for at least 24 hours. I used small adjustable clamps to hold everything in place. After this had made a permanent bond I then glued the side edges of the chassis to the body and again used the adjustable clamps. There is no real area where the rear of the chassis can be glued to the body. This is done by gluing the Rear Bumper part #98 to the body and the chassis to the bumper. That's how I did it anyway. I also would like to know of any better options for the future.
Glen Powers Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 David, thanks for the reply.I use the rear bumper to position the chassis front to rearand glued at the rocker panels and just ahead of the front wheel opening. It worked just fine but I would have felt better if there was a molded in locating point.Glen
