  1. Looking for a source for pin striping tape (not masking tape) for an upcoming project. Previously I have used Line-O-Tape which came in various widths and colors but doesn't seem to be available any longer. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance. Glen
  2. Michael, I mostly have picked up this kit along with its sister Corvette version for the Monocoque Wheels and some other pieces to use on other builds. On more than one occasion I've wondered what it would take to turn either version into a decent looking build of some kind. Well, I now know! You're taking on all of the shortcomings of this kit and are headed to first class results. Keep up the good work, Glen
  3. Michael, I only use a Sharpie if I'm doing a black colored belt. On any other color I'll use Testors enamel or Tamiya acrylic as some of the PE pieces also get painted and then they're sure to match. I use Tamiya acrylic for the gloss and flat clears and they work fine. Glen
  4. D., Roy, and John: Your comments meant a lot to me so thanks very much. Glen
  5. Brian, thanks so much for the positive feedback it's appreciated. Glen
  6. Michael, the only CA glue I used was for the release button to the buckle. For the belts it was Aleene's Turbo Tacky Glue which is a craft store white glue. I also use it when mocking up parts in the early stages of a build. BTW I think you are doing an awesome job on your pro street Beretta. Glen
  7. Jerry, you captured the elegance of the full bodied fuelers of that era, well done indeed. Glen
  8. Michael, thanks for the acknowledgement. The harness is from Pro Tech model parts I feel it's the easiest to assemble and the results seem pretty good. Yes those are decals for one of the Slixx decal sheets. A little gloss clear where they are going, followed by a fair amount of setting solution and when dry finish up with flat clear. Thanks again, Glen
  9. Philippe, thanks for checking in, if there was a long distance award it would be all yours for sure! Glen
  10. John, my personal knowledge of early SS cars is limited at best, nevertheless you've presented a really nice, neat and clean build here. Great work! Glen
  11. Alan I think he just needs to get over his shyness!!!!!! Okay another vote on the color, good. Thanks, Glen
  12. Paul and John, thanks for your comments and glad to see so many stock/super fans on the forum checking in. Glen
  13. Alan, really nice to hear from you and hope all is well with you. Glad to hear you liked the build and thanks for the kudos. Our mutual friend Mr. Estabrook keeps me grounded as you can imagine. Upon seeing it he wasted no time telling me he wasn't wild about the color and he's not a fan of contingency decals, but other than that it was fine. But that's what friends are for right LMAO!! Thanks and take care, Glen
  14. To: Larry, Bill, Trevor, Carl, Dave, Mike, and Dave, I can't thank you guys enough for taking the time to send your nice comments on my build and it's appreciated for sure. Thanks, Glen
  15. Anton, thanks so much for your comments it's nice to hear. Glen
  16. Jim, thanks for the compliments, glad you liked it. Thanks, Glen
  17. George and Claude, thanks for checking in and glad you liked the color it's Tamiya TS-66 IJN gray (kure arsn) not sure if it's available in the small bottles as these are not very plentiful in my area. I appreciate your positive feedback very much. Thanks again, glen
  18. Ron, Rusty, Richard, and Bob, really great for you all to send your positive comments and I thank you. Glen
  19. John, thanks so much. One of the benefits of a race car over say a replica stock build is the freedom on things like colors I thought that blue would be a good contrast with the gray. No, the tranny didn't fit at all! After I had it located and pinned to the engine block I spent some quality time with the Dremel and luckily none of it shows. Thanks again, Glen
  20. Francis, coming from you I am very flattered indeed. It seems that the color is kind of a love/hate thing with people but I wanted something contemporary and thought it would work. Thanks again, Glen
  21. Ron, thanks I very much appreciate it. The tires came from the Revell pro stock Olds Cutlass. The Caltracs are from 3D Model Specialties I cut them from the springs they were on and used the kit springs. As for the trunk I didn't do very much at all on the underside as after it goes to a few shows it stays on the shelf, but I probably should have. it's not based on any one car but more a collection of current stocker trends. Thanks, Glen
  22. JC, Chris, Barry, Larry, and Jeff: Thanks for your comments and taking the time to respond. Glen
  23. After seeing newer cars with this type of grey I wanted to do a model with it and for a change of pace something other than a Chevy. So this is the result of that thought process. It's the AMT kit with Tamiya lacquers and Model Master Wet Look Clear, some of the scratch built items were the roll bar, headers, and various other bits and pieces. Replaced the manual trans with a resin Torqueflite and a used a host of other aftermarket pieces. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out but feel free to comment or any questions. thanks, Glen
  24. Dan it's definitely got the look of that era, good job. Glen
  25. Dan, As a stock elim. and station wagon fan I think you picked a great subject for this build. My only disappointment was no engine detail but I completely understand why your not going that route. It's looking good and anxious to see your progress. When completed it will surely look the part when "stock" was "stock". Glen
