Very nice builds, all of them. I was fortunate enough to visit the Petersen Museum back in 2007 and they had a large display of Ed Roth's cars there. I also got to meet him as he presented me with a trophy at a model car contest in the early 80's. Too bad I didn't think to get his autograph back then. Oh well.

Thanks! I never seemed to be able to complete a Roth car kit when I was a kid...or any Revell show car for that matter. Lots of "fiddly bits".Meeting him,  AND getting a trophy from him...what an experience you had ! (what car did you win with ?).

I met him, and his son, at a car show, and I was able to thank him personally for inspiring me as a kid to get into the art field in school,  and the design profession later in life. And he seemed sincerely appreciative, listening carefully and thoughtfully to each word, seeming grateful to know that he made a difference in kids lives all while having fun.

I'm kicking myself for actually having him autograph the books and kits and stuff, - I wish I spent more time in a discussion on how he designed these things...they seem so "right" - and perfect as they are.

I think a guy at the show invited his son - and Ed out to dinner that evening...his son said "Ed likes to eat,...ask him. He might take you up on it."

Boy...the dinner conversation I may have missed, not hanging around.

Your three are very well done. I had good intensions at one time to build all the Roth kits but have never built any although I always have the Beatnik Bandit on my want to build list being my favorite.

I know the feeling - Even though I had the Surfite and Beatnik Bandit started, - I was burnt out after these three, it takes a bit of work to get these done.

Parts on the Tweedy Pie tree are very fragile, and dealing with gluing the chrome parts/plating assembling car frames is difficult. (probably why I haven't finished an Orange Crate).

The interior of the B.Bandit needs some reworking to duplicate the actual look of the 1:1 interior.

I have no idea of which car I won with, as it was a very long time ago and I've built many models since then. I do remember that I had won a Pasche air brush at that contest also.
