GaryR Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 I absolutly HATE models with separate roofs! I'm going to start on the AMT 36 Ford, and I'm dreading it.Here's my question. The body and roof don't fit together very well.Do you glue one side, let it dry and reinforce and THEN the other?Maybe you think that's stupid, but I want to know what has worked for you!PLEASE, no snarky replies.
Tom Geiger Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 The CA Glues with gap filling qualities would come in handy here... Zap-A-Gap, and every store brand has a thicker gap filler.
68shortfleet Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I built this kit not long ago. I did a five window roof. I didn't find the roof fitment to be too bad, but it does take some work.I did glue one side and then the other. I didn't use any reinforcements inside, and that would have made it easier. I did have a glued side come apart on me that probably would not have happened if reinforced.Be careful where you locate the reinforcements, they are in quite visie locations.Good luck, its a fun kit once the roof is glued.
GaryR Posted March 28, 2017 Author Posted March 28, 2017 I'd LOVE to see a 36 and a Model A coupe that don't have separate roofs!
