Custom Hearse Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 (edited) This is the project I'm working on now.... I'm using the AMT '74 Road Runner, the AMT '70 Super Bee, and the AMT '71 Charger for parts. I'm using the DOHC Hemi, the frame, seats, and drive train, from the Bee, the body and interior from the Road Runner, and the dash from the Charger. Let me know what you think.... george 53 Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Its a good thing that AMT came out with some good kits before they went to pot, cause now we can build up some NICE models from the old MPC kits useing the new kit parts!Your RR is comin out great.nice job of adapting all the new stuff to the old body!I'm kinda growin tired of the Plum Crazy color but that in NO WAY takes anything from your build. Keep it up an lets see more!!!
Custom Hearse Posted May 30, 2008 Author Posted May 30, 2008 Thanks George. The only thing I had to do to get the frame to fit was cut out the rear seat of the RR interior. I know Plum crazy is getting overused, but in this case I thought it would be a good color. Thanks again for the great comment!
Custom Hearse Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 I haven't done much with the '74 due to work lately. I do have a question.... I was wondering if I should paint the hood body color, or black. I have painted one of the hoods I have semi gloss black, and was thinking of painting the sides of the hood scoop white. I have three of these hoods to work with. Here's a couple of pics of the semi gloss black hood on the car.... Let me know what you think....
rollinoldskoo Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 i think the black hood looks great on there.... is the car gettin any grapics?
Custom Hearse Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 (edited) Thanks Rollin! I'm liking it too! New update: I've added sheet plastic to the interior, to fill in the hole left from cutting out the back seat. The interior before I cut out the back seat The seat was cut out to fit the frame 4 pieces of sheet plastic cut to fit the interior Side by side view of original and modified interior Another side by side view just need to add a trans tunnel, clean it up, and flocking.... Let me know what you think. Edited June 3, 2008 by Custom Hearse
