gbdolfans Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Hi everyone,I got some new Purple Power at Advance and put some straight in a plastic container.I put in some parts to strip,a Vette body, interior, hood. They were all primed with Tamiya fine and shot with Tamiya red and Testors Beige. After leaving it overnight, the interior is coming off but the red is stuck fast and not coming off at all.Any ideas??George
Mr. Muppet Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 In my experience, Tamiya (from the can) should come off in 91% isopropyl alcohol.
D. Battista Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 I had a T-Bolt body sprayed with Tamiya Racing White in Super Clean for 14 hours and didn't touch it ...I read on another thread that Purple Power is not as strong...... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/123191-which-paint-stripper-is-best/
Longbox55 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 In my experience, Tamiya (from the can) should come off in 91% isopropyl alcohol. That has been ,y experience as well. The 91% alcohol will take the Tamiya spray off within a few minutes, leaving pretty much bare plastic.
yh70 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 get you some easy off oven cleaner (yellow can ..brand name) ..spray it on let it set a few hrs with a old tooth brush scrub under warm water , re-pete if needed..
