Hey guys, what class would a 68 383 Roadrunner be in circa 68/69? I am looking to build one as a stock, not super stock, car. Also, would an aluminum intake and headers be class legal for stock? Thanks in advance !

A/S and A/SA were 8 lb classes, I believe.  The weight breaks were in half pound increments down to I or J (8.5 for B, 9.0 for C, etc.).  Divide Nhra shipping weight by horsepower ( 335 for the 383, I think).  So, I would guess the car to be in E or F stock.  Headers were allowed, aluminum intake only if it came stock on the car from the factory (roadrunner did not).  7 inch "cheater" slicks (had 2 grooves on tires).  Hope this helps.  Ron.

Ron made a very good guess.  Roadrunners and Super Bees with the 335HP-rated 383 were in E/S or E/SA (A for Automatic).  Other B-Bodies with 330HP-rated 383's were F/S and F/SA.  You'd most likely see an open element air cleaner or no air cleaner at all.
