Hey, guys...... I'm wondering about kit-bashing the custom '48 Ford with the stock one. I'd like a stock roof, but with the lowered suspension from the custom. Will these parts swap directly? also Will the custom's fade-away panels fit the stock body?

Thank you for any help.........

The chassis parts interchange (dropped axle and lowered rear spring)  the kits are the same except the body and interior.   I don't know about the fade aways but Id assume they'd fit too.

Thanks, Mike....... So all I'd need to lower the stock kit would be the parts you mentioned? I wouldn't need a complete custom kit, just those two parts?

Thanks

yes just the dropped axle and the rear spring/radius rod assembly.

I think the custom version may have shorter front shocks...my kit isn't available to me to check right now.

Just an FYI, the 48 ford convertible and woody wagon are both also on the same chassis and  parts will interchange with the custom coupe as well. Not sure about interchangeability with the stock coupe, havent had one of those yet.

Very cool and good to know! A woody custom would be pretty neat..........

Revell supplied the same chassis under ALL of their '48 Ford cars, and substituted or added suspension parts as necessary, so all of the Revell bits will fit all of the Revell chassis like they're made for them.

Revell's other woody wagon is a '49 Mercury, and is on an entirely different frame.

Also on the same frame design are the '41 Ford woody kits from AMT. There are two versions, stock and custom, and the parts and chassis assemblies are fairly easy swaps into the Revell bodies and vice versa.
