CountryJoe Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Is there a list of items... fuel line, brake line, coolant hoses etc. where the correct sizes are given for something in 1:24 scale{looking for something as close to accurate as humanly possible}
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Find the REAL size. Divide by 24. That's as accurate as humanly possible.For example, fuel lines are often 1/2 inch, which is .5. Divide by 24..5 divided by 24 = .0208So, .020" wire would look right for 1/2 inch fuel line in 1/24 scale. Brake line is usually 1/4 or 5/16. Heater hoses are 5/8, 3/4 and 1 inch. Radiator hoses are around 2 inches.Elementary school fractions and arithmetic.
BubbaBrown Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 There is a chart up in drag racing with different sizes for hoses etc.
935k3 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Sometimes what is mathematically correct just does not look right in scale. Using reference pics use choose what looks right. Even Mr Tamiya said they changed some dimensions on there models because they just did not look right.
