Slotto Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Very cool. Nice to see that you are into h.o. slot cars too!
fordf-100 Posted August 18, 2017 Author Posted August 18, 2017 Love the old Aurora stuff! Always looking for cars! I did some work on my El Camino project, I rescribed the door lines and fitted a back window. I used the Molotow chrome pen to re-do the front end chrome. I am going to paint the grille stainless with a black wash, I used the pen on the bumper and the upper grille surround and around the headlights. Not sure if I should drill out the lights and replace with clear lenses, would rather try and "clear" over them. Any ideas? Also its amazing how a close up photo with a phone camera makes by body work look like BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH!
Mercuryman54 Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Saw this artist drawing concept of the el Camino you are building.
Maindrian Pace Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 I took these pics at Goodguys several years ago. Next body style, but same concept.
mlomaka Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 (edited) Looks great so far. Here is a drawing I did for a Sketchpad article a while ago. I really didn't think they actually plans to make it. I based my drawing on the wagon version, since it would be easier to convert. Mike Edited August 28, 2017 by mlomaka
fordf-100 Posted October 23, 2017 Author Posted October 23, 2017 I fanally got some paint on this! The interior is just about finished. I need to get some clear on it and polishing to get the shine up! What do you guys think of the color combo? I wanted something that looked like it was done in the late 60's. Does anyone know of a source for outside door handles without buying another kit? If all else fails I guess I could try and cast some up.
fordf-100 Posted October 23, 2017 Author Posted October 23, 2017 I had not checked this post for awhile, thanks for posting the pictures of your drawings and the concept drawings! I really like the 66/67 Nova conversion, I think that could be done in model form using a Flintstone sedan delivery maybe?
dragstk Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 You should check out Fireball Modelworks. He has a selection of door handles. And they are top notch quality and great customer service!
