pharoah Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Has anyone on here ever built this kit and used the decals? I don't see how they could fit around all those curves and cutouts and still look good. They're 40 years old, too. I'm thinking of getting some decal film and making my own. Not crazy about the colors either.
Force Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 I did try to build this kit in my teens back in the 80's and used some of the decals, it was beyond my capabilities back then so I did not finish it...I still have the left over parts in my stash somewhere. As I remember the decals was translucent and didn't cover well, especially on the black hood, so it would maybe have worked better if they were doubled up
aurfalien Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Hi,Yes I can vouch for printing decals on sturdier paper for this very reason. If I were you, I'd print them on Lazertran ink jet waterslide decal paper. Just scan at your highest resolution, preferably +600dpi. I do 1,200 myself. The Lazertran is very tough stuff but pliable enough. I've even stretched it a bit w/o issue.
