CAL Posted June 14, 2008 Author Posted June 14, 2008 Oh and Amanda kills the Lola AER, the first husband wife driving the same car. Could be done for them.
Brendan Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 The Porsche knock each other out because of the Risi Ferrari slowly down suddenly. The Lola AER is out. The driver walked away from the car which automatically disqualifies the car. ###### Risi Ferrari!
Guest zebm1 Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Does anyone think it might have been on purpose?

Roadkill2525 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Its been boring, switched to the better NASCAR race.
CAL Posted June 15, 2008 Author Posted June 15, 2008 Its been boring, switched to the better NASCAR race. Yeah, well, that is the best I have ever felt about NASCAR. Boring, but I have several more opinions of NASCAR, which I wont go into.
Roadkill2525 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 I wasn't saying anything bad about Le Mans. Just that at this time its boring, I usally watch the last two/three hours when most of the field gets weeded out and the racing really picks up. As for comments about NASCAR, it shows that your narrow minded. I watch all forms of racing and show no ill-will towards any of them.

It is night - raining and there is 20 sec separating 1st and 2nd between Peugeot and Audi. I don't know what could be more exciting. Sure sounded like a derogatory statement. I am not narrow-minded but see no benefit or have any interest in NASCAR, and still to date nobody has been able to intelligently explain it to me, but I am always willing to listen.
Guest zebm1 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Boy howdy that Peugot driver has rocks made of Iron, racing on a wet roadcourse with full slicks.....gunning for tha lead Audi......
Nick F40 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 YES MY MY BOYS IN THE FERRARI ARE WINNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is what I Say... ###### Risi took 2/3 of the Porsche field out. I know FINALLY! Boy howdy that Peugot driver has rocks made of Iron, racing on a wet roadcourse with full slicks.....gunning for tha lead Audi...... EXACTLY which makes it ever more exciting, real, raw than 98% of the racing series out there including Not Any Sense Came At Richmond
Nick F40 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Now that was racing, in the rain and through the night! AUDI WINS IT!!! ;)And overall and all three in top 6! PORSCHE!!! ASTON WINS!!! They needed this, those Vettes were taking the wins lately. RISI!!!!
CAL Posted June 15, 2008 Author Posted June 15, 2008 (edited) Absolutely the best Le Mans I have seen yet. I kept wanting to go to bed but man what a battle overall. I really wanted to see Peugeot winning just to see someone else win for a change. They are already talking changes coming for next year. Audi to abandon the Spyder, Porsche and Acura to challenge for a win overall, perahps in a closed car for Porsche. Peugeot proved their question of reliablity and all three cars finished in the top 6 and had 2 podiums 2nd and 3rd. But man what a race. Crazy French, raining on half the track and making up ground, on slicks, for awhile, on the TK in the lead Audi. It was a real nail bitter to the end. Yeah, and they say Porsche couldn't do it. Never run a 24 hours with an RS Spyder and clobbers LMP2, and only finished two gas LMP1 cars back. Another good race to the end, but the Aston was just a little too fast for the Corvette boys in GT1. A complete disaster for Porsche in GT2, I was surprised to see the Lizards still limping around till the end in a sea of Ferrari 430s. Not the titanic battle it could have been. I am glad Risi got it though. New record distance for the race. 381 laps Record 8th win for TK and 9th in a row for Audi if you include the Bentely. Edited June 15, 2008 by CAL
gregbbear Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 A great race!!! As far as I am concerned, Le Mans always is. Peugeout tire strategy was questionable. The best Team won, but maybe not the best car? The end was worth getting up at 2am central to watch till the end. I am disappointed that the vettes didn't win 'cause Ron is my boy, plus Johnny O is Cool with a capital C. For me, it is so hard to not root for every team in one way or another. Some of the Peugeout drivers were darn well daring, I like McNish at audi too. It was good to see Jaques Villenueve doing something constructive and not self insulting (ie nascar). And yes, I am narrow minded. I watched nascar until in became cookie cutter ######. Which, despite the good racing, grand-am has become too. Overall, it is nice to know there are others out there.... Later, Greg ps- narrow minded or not, I didn't go to a nascar thread and insult them!

I am not sure that no matter what tire choice they made was going to make a difference. But hindsight is always 20/20. That may have made the difference. The Audi teams do have it down to a science whereas the Peugeot team is still green. I can't wait for next year's race.... I am stoked.
Roadkill2525 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 So how was the finish, about two hours left the power went out. Someone ran their car up a pole and poewr didn't come back till about 8:30 pst, I can't get anything but standard cable right now.
