So,a lot of people would be thrilled if we can ever get a drag track built out here on LI NY.There are really a dedicated bunch of people who want this. They are trying their hardest to get a 1/8th mile drag track built somewhere out on Eastern LI.They throw a great,(and free car show),on Tuesday nights on N.Ocean Ave South. At first light, big church on your right.Make a right then into the church.Thank you to all your guys, and women, who are actually trying, for real,to get a track built.Anytime a Long Islander wants to stretch their car's legs, down the 1/4 mile,we have to cross a couple of bridges to do so.And to me,that sucks. So it's LINADS.They are all over Facebook

I wish you luck.

The nearest one to me closed years back due to safety, neighborhood noise (the strip was there first) and property "development" issues.

Now I have to drive damm near 100 miles.

So how 'bout racin' on the streets? Oh never mind, as this isn't the 60's and early 70's anymore. Times have changed.

Well from LI,the nearest track is Englishtown,or Atco.LI used to have a great 1/4 mile track in West Hampton,(eastern Long Island),but due to sky rocketing real estate prices a few years back, they closed the track, and built houses. So there is a very large group of people on LI,who would love to see another drag racing track open. The guys who run LINADS,are hard at work, trying to do just that.I guess there's a lot of red tape involved. So for now,all we car guys can do,is hope for a miracle ?.There are even local politicians involved, who are trying to get a track open.Lets just keep our fingers crossed...And as far as street racing.Well trust me,there's is plenty of that going on.Which is one of the main reasons,Long Island needs a track.Plus we are all sick of driving almost three hours to Englishtown NJ,at least from where I live in central LI,it's about a 2 1/2 to three hour drive, then back.Argggg??....(((WE NEED A DRAG STRIP.))).
