Howard Cohen Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 You can also use a chunk of plasticine to hold the toothpicks or other small parts holders
M1ks Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 You can, or a block of styrofoam as I used to prior to making this but seeing some for sale I thought, that's a neat idea and I could build one of those easily, it's nice and portable from desk to drying box which plasticine isn't and weighted enough that it won't easily tip like styrofoam if you have some heavy large pieces pinned to it, I've had to strip and repaint parts due to that. When all's said and done, it's another alternative but best of all it's free to make.
crazyjim Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I use the styrofoam method with alligator clips on skewer sticks.
BigTallDad Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I use the styrofoam/toothpick approach, but I glue/tape something like a small wooden board (for weight) on the bottom of the styrofoam.
Mixalz Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 I personally use some plastic tubs I bought from Officeworks and a piece of 20mm wooden board cut to size. I drilled holes every 20mm. Advantage of this is that there is no dust captured (as the wood is smooth) and the wood is easy to place/remove from the tubs. Perfect for painting/dust.
