Ya it was a pretty quick build, but it's up to George to finish it. The base and interior and whatever else he wants around it. He also has to glue it together, which shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure his wife will do it for him. . I'll bet he isn't near ready for it. If I know him, he hasn't done anything in the basement as to getting his dios set up.

I'm glad you like it, now all I have to do is find a box flat enough to pack it in. The next question is, are you getting things in the basement all done ? ######'n if I get a chance I'll make another hinge and show you how I did them.
george 53 Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Bill, you been talkin to Theresa? She's gonna be wonderin wots got into me when I go down there an start cleanin up! robertw Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Now you need to build some "ratty old" cars to park inside it. You've done a great job and it looks very realistic. I'm assuming that you used real wood to do the siding because it sure looks like old wood. robw

As for the ratty old cars, well that's gonna be George 53 job to add them to it, if I ever get it boxed up and sent to him. Thanks for the nice comments though. For all the short time I spent on it, it turned out well.
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Gramps, that is a kick-a55 garage!!!! i wish I had the space to try my hand 2 something like thet. Ledsled, you wouldn't have to build the whole thing, just the front part, then you could use it for a photo back drop. A lot of ppl do this instead of building a whole big dio.
Guest zebm1 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Nice garage Gramps, but where's george's library wid tha Sears mail-order catalog hanging on a chain? Or does he just have a commode inside, no walls?

george 53 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Bill, an you said you'd never seen a Deeetroit ghetto garage! We only drank beer in there so an ol burn out was jus fine for us, if we had Red Barn, we would use the Clark station on the corner of Clark an Vernor, Cause Ma want havin no dirty hands an footprints all over her john!
sdrodder Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 that is nice. Only thing that is missing is crapns 51
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 man do i LOVE this garage! where can i get one? Dave Sorry Dave, I'm afraid you can't get them anywhere. I made this one for George 53. Now all I have to do is get it boxed up and send it to him, but since I don't go out much that seems to be a bigger problem than it was to make it
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008
oh, yeah, you interested in going into the old wooden garage building business? i'll be your next customer!
Dave

Dave I'm not really interested in making them for sale. Sorry. But their not really hard to make, just some heavy poster board. wood and some paint. The siding was sprayed on w/ paint and some wood around the doors. You can re-enforce the poster board w/ wood strips to make it stiffer. You should try it. You'd be amazed what you can do if you try.
RadRidesByDan Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Thats just a coooooool build. It really looks like ....Um! Really old place 2 thumbs up Bear
