Thanks Dirk and Steve!

Did the kit come with the T handle?

No, it didn't.  The T handle definitely came from my parts box, but may have originally come from the AMT '69 Cougar Eliminator.

After a good cleaning, I painted the resin grille with Alclad II Gloss Black Base.  Then I painted the grille with Alclad II Chrome.

More to come...

I painted the body last week and noticed a paint run on the left rear fender.  I started by sanding off the paint run and will give the body another coat of Tamiya TS-20 Metallic Green.  A mockup with the grille.  Looks great!

Thanks Dirk and Jeremy!  Well, one thing is for sure, that is my model.  How can I tell?  There's a dog hair hanging from the fender.  If it doesn't have dog hair on it, it's not mine!

I decided to assemble the chassis.  The engine, most of the exhaust system, rear axle, dog house, and wheels and tires were added.  I need to find a tach in my parts box and to repaint the rear package shelf on the interior.

More to come...

I went fishing in the parts box this morning looking for a tachometer and I found that plus a set of under dash gauges.  I detailed them and added some Tamiya X-22 Clear over the gauges for lenses.

Yesterday, I wet-sanded the body in prep for another coat of paint.  The chassis is nearly finished.  I installed the wheels and tires and the rest of the exhaust system.

I added a final coat of paint to the '69 Road Runner.  Next, I'll mask of the fenders and hood for the Performance Hood Treatment.  The taillights have been assembled.

I know it's been a while since I worked on the Road Runner.  I finally got around to painting the stripes on the fenders and the hood.  There is some cleanup necessary and I'm not 100% happy with the hood, but time will tell.

More Mopar to come...

I'd forgotten about this build I thought it had gone to Under Glass and I missed it. Glad to see you're getting back to it. Not sure of the hood problem you mentioned, it looks fine in the photos.

I never finished it.  There was some trash on the hood that I had sanded out.  I thought I had all the marks removed only to find them under the newly repainted stripes.  Not sure what to do other than stripping and repainting the hood.

That's to bad. In one picture it looks almost as if a hair is sitting in the center of the hood. It's a real pain when you have to redo all that work but I'm sure you'll make it look right.

Still looking good, Mike!

I built one of these about 20yrs ago... Found the remains of it a couple weeks ago. I don't know what I was thinking back then. Lol.

I live with two dogs in my house and my Golden Retriever is always in a constant state of shedding.  I am constantly vacuuming my house and still, the dog hair is everywhere.  That dog hair was an errant hair that found its way onto the hood and fortunately, the paint was dry at that time.  I think I'll finish building the '69 Road Runner and deal with the hood last.

I got the Road Runner foiled this morning.  I used a combination of Bare Metal Foil and my Molotow Liquid Chrome pen.

More Mopar to come...
