I’ll be keeping it motorized with original chassis but super detailing with luxury interior and correct color scheme.
cpspoogie Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 BAre metal foil work done. Also a shot of the rear air vent selector that I scratch built. Out of focus, but you get the idea.
1500gp Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Fine, continue on this way, young Padawan ... ha ha ha ...
cpspoogie Posted November 30, 2017 Author Posted November 30, 2017 Half way through the scratch build of the side mirrors based on this first pic. Sheet styrene cut with hobby knife and sink into Miliput clay to harden then sand, and paint chrome.
cpspoogie Posted November 30, 2017 Author Posted November 30, 2017 Sank these styrene rectangular pieces in Miliput clay and then will trim and sand before chrome painting. The supports I have to hit twice on each side using excess paint on the tip on purpose. It creates a pooling effect that makes for a more realistic rounded look.
Anglia105E Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 Really well done with the bare metal foil work Chris, especially bearing in mind that your hands would be shaking badly. I like BMF a lot, and it is such a nice material to work with, sometimes quite forgiving when you get it slightly wrong. I shall be trying out a Molotow Liquid Chrome pen later today on the latest Rolls-Royce build. Still using BMF for the larger areas of chrome like radiator grille and bumpers ( fenders), but I thought the chrome pen at 1 mm tip would be good for finer work. It will be experimental of course. As well as the crimson leather interior work I am in the process of adding fabric headlining, walnut burr dashboard and door trims, crimson leather sun visors and cranberry felt carpets. Superb Mustang you are putting together there.... good luck with your build! David

cpspoogie Posted December 2, 2017 Author Posted December 2, 2017 Scratch built side mirrors on. They’re ok. My first attempt. I’m not that happy with them but they’re not too bad. Just too small for my old shaky hands to make well.
cpspoogie Posted December 7, 2017 Author Posted December 7, 2017 Finished this, will move final on the street photos to Under Glass section. Had some trouble with the white letter decals. I followed a tip and used Dulcote under and on top of the decals, but they still split. I have more so I suppose I could strip them and try again.
cpspoogie Posted December 7, 2017 Author Posted December 7, 2017 Thanks fellas. Starting on the ‘66 Coupe Wen MAC now.
Mercuryman54 Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Very, Very nice. Can't wait to see the coupe!! I have one in the attic. Dennis
