Steamboat Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 Does anyone have any long-term experience with TS-26 Pure White? I've used Testors white enamel a few times over the years and it always yellows after time. Does the Tamiya paint do this? Thinking about using it on my next build. I could use white nail polish also, but I love the simplicity of the rattle cans!
maltsr Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 I've been using TS26 for many years and never noticed any yellowing. Some kits were painted over seven years ago. It dries with a beautiful shine so that a clearcoat isn't necessary, reducing the risk of yellowing. Hope this helps
Steamboat Posted November 30, 2017 Author Posted November 30, 2017 Thanks for the input. I'll give it a try. I've had great results with the other colors, just a little leery when it comes to white.
carrucha Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 I have used TS26 a couple of times and it is the best bright white paint I have used. I have tried Duplicolor but the paint has a yellowish tint to it. I have had the same problem with Testors white enamel. I think the clear coat causes it to yellow over time.
