iamsuperdan Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 From: http://ajournalofmusicalthings.com/rip-pat-dinizio-smithereens/ "We’ve lost another one. Pat DiNizio, the singer and leader of New Jersey’s Smithereens, has died at the age of 62. The official cause of death hasn’t been announced yet. Although he was looking forward to getting back on the road, Pat was in poor health in recent years that include nerve damage to his hand after a fall in 2015. There were further problems–neck and back issues–that prevented him from performing earlier this year." Wow. Their album 11 is just a killer rock album. Been a fan of these guys since the early 90s, have covered their songs in my bands over the years. https://www.vevo.com/watch/the-smithereens/only-a-memory/USCA30200059
Dragline Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Love me some Smithereens. This is sad news indeed.
SfanGoch Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Used to see the band at CBGB's, Cat Club and other great and long gone venues.
