rastta Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 (edited) Since recently joining this site - I haven't posted any of my recent builds. I'll do that after having a chance to get some good pics of them. The latest is a BRE Datsun 510. Owned a modified 510 back in the late 70's early 80's. Always loved em. This is my first attempt at doing any wiring since the old days (40+ years ago) when I used to use thread and twist ties. The model came with hoses and honestly they sucked. Couldn't get them to attach correctly or bend at all. So I figured I'd give the scale braided hoses and plug wires a shot. Happy with the results. Unfortunately the model places parts in different locations that the real car. Since I had originally planned on running the hoses/wiring that came with the model - I left them in those locations. Pic of the original car for comparison. Edited December 23, 2017 by rastta
espo Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 I think your engine detailing looks great. Are you going for the BRE Racing or a modified street 510 ?
jaymcminn Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Great job so far. I built this kit a few years back and absolutely love it!
vintagercr Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 Looking good and thanks for sharing the engine compartment of the real deal. Great reference material

BRE racing. While it will be really close in a lot of ways - I have done some things that I think will look better on the model.
