Tom Louis Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 I like to build realistic, plausible race cars and make up stories about them, some times. If I am in the wrong, place, please let me know. Here's the story: Several automotively inclined fellas from Indiana decide they want to go down to Florida and try their hand at NASCAR. The Permatex Sportsman series, to be specific. They acquire a discarded Holman Moody chassis, find a 64 junkyard T_Bird, buy a 427 Ford motor, and get the a body shop and a full service garage to sponsor and help out. Small time budget, but skilled and determined to make this happen. Here is the result.
VW93 Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 I like it ! Great color combination and decal/lettering .
bbowser Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Great build and backstory! Back when that sort of thing could still happen.
'70 Grande Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Excellent build and concept/story behind it! Now, tell us a little more about the build; what chassis did you use under that great looking T-Bird body? Wheels/tires? Engine? We wanna know more!
Tom Louis Posted January 8, 2018 Author Posted January 8, 2018 Ok I fabbed my own "half chassis, with the T Bird center plat form, an AMT Nascar front clip, and a leaf spring rear and frame rails out of a Chrysler kit car. The fabbed chassis is on the bottom and on the right. The othe chassis is the "before"
