conrod Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Thought you'd like to see some genuine 1960's models, assembled by me while I was a young petrol head in school. I was even doing some customising, note Predicta engine has plug wires made from cotton! They sort of start and stop in the right places. (well I was a kid)
Mercuryman54 Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 I built those also when I was a kid in the mid 60's. I don't have them anymore, wished I did!! They probably got the firecracker/smokebomb treatment!! It is great that you still have yours. Dennis
PARTSMARTY Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Very cool-unfortunately i have none of my old ones.
Snake45 Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 They look a lot like my own '60s efforts, right down to the sewing thread plug wires. Very cool survivors!
espo Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Very nice looking builds considering the experience of the builder and the products that you had to work with at the time. Cotton thread spark plug wires was cutting edge technology at the time. The fact that you still have them and they are in good condition is pretty amazing.

Mercuryman54 Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Still have beeswax in a drawer of my model tool box! Dennis
