I got this in the mail yesterday and I've started on it already. The first picture is what it looked like when I got it. The glass is in pretty bad shape as far as the glue goes. I will try and remove it and save the glass. The rest of the pictures show how it is now after a bath in the Purple pond. I had to fill in the holes that were used for the mirrors, antennas and spot lights. I plan on rebuilding this as Dave Stricklers "Old Reliable IV" drag car.   Thanks fer lookin.  Dan

Go for it Dan! I have both an original annual AMT '63 rebuilder, a couple of Revell '63's along with a Model Car World Z11 Impala Interior trans -kit. I have both a set of "Old Reliable" decals, and a set of "Strip Blazer" decals. That was my favorite era for drag cars. I may just take a year, and build nothing but '60's super stocks.

What's the difference between the MCW interior and the Revell interior?

I look forward to your rebuild. As you may already know the parts for the Z-11 engine conversion are included in the old AMT '62 Bel Air kit. That kit has the unique Air Cleaner and Intake Manifold. There is a set of Headers that are very close to the 1:1 also. If you don't have the MCW Impala bench Seat interior you could modify the Bel Airs seats. The AMT has been reissued with raised front suspension and "Old Reliable" Decals. This goes a long way on the conversion with very little cash out lay.

The MCW Impala interior reflects the Impala trim package with a bench seat instead of the Impala SS bucket seats and console. I bought mine to do a Z11 car.

Will it fit the Revell kit? I think that interior is based off the Revell kit.

It is based on the Revell kit, which it will fit. I am not sure about the AMT, which I plan to build mine stock. I wish someone did the '63 Dog Dish caps. A sleeper Impala Z11 street car would be quite interesting. In doing the '63 Old Reliable Z11, I believe either the AMT '63 or '64 Corvette Roadster annual kit has the Hands Mag Wheels that were used for a time on the '63 Car.

Any chance you will be posting photos of the interior after you get it?

I got a little done on the windows.  I think that I will be able to use this glass.  I had to sand and polish the whole unit a couple of times and it doesn't look to bad.  I'm trying to use as much of the kit parts that I can.  I have to come up with the two 4's, manifold and headers plus the air cleaner.  This won't be an exact replica cause I don't have a bench seat and maybe other stuff that I don't know about.  That's Ok though.  Thanks fer lookin.  Dan

Another good thing about this model is that I have another original that I rebuilt a few years ago and it didn't have the radiator and horns, so I made copies of the ones from this kit and now the older one has the parts that were missing.  Dan

I have had the interior for years, but sorry, I cannot post any pictures as I am in Photobucket Jail for now. Trust me, the interior is a very good fit for the Revell kit.

Thanks Dennis, I'm trying to save as much of the original kit as I possibly can and the glass is one part that I really wanted to save.
