OK, I've been putzing around on this thing since late April and I've finally got it done. Quick recap: AMT '65 Lincoln with front and rear chassis sections and engine compartment from the '62 T-Bird. Color is Duplicolor Nissan Cherry Red Pearl topped with Duplicolor clear. Wheels are two sets of Prowler trailer with tires from the AMT '67 Impala street machine. Hope you enjoy looking at it, because for me, even though it was a struggle for the last few weeks (funny how that happens), it was fun to push my skills (such as they are) that much further. Thanks for looking.

Looks like you put quite a bit of effort into detailing the interior. Nice work! I like the "wood" inserts and all the chrome trim. Nothing beats a well-detailed interior on a convertible.

Now that is one nice Lincoln!

.........And I learned something new------I didn't know 1:1 Lincolns and T-Birds from that era shared floorpans! I have both those kits (two of the '62 T-Birds) and that makes it good to know I can use 'em to kitbash parts with.

The first mock ups of the Thunderbird used 61 Lincoln sheetmetal on the shorter T-bird wheelbase. It was Robert McNamara who stole the design from the Ford studio and gave it to Lincoln. Ellwood Engel desinged the "Engelbird" that went to Lincoln. The Ford design studio then came up with the "BulletBirds". The two cars shared many parts so the could be assembled at the same state of the art Wixom plant.

Harold, the color looks factory, nice touch.I once had to rewire the top solinoids on one of those Lincons, never again. Dang thing almost got me to start using alcohol again. At that time, I'm proud to say I'd been "Dry" for 16 years. Ed Shaver

Thanks a bunch, guys. I would have responded sooner, but I've been kinda nursing my dog. She's been ill since someone gave her a piece of a taco from the place down the street (I've noticed that there's no slow moving cats in my neighborhood...). She started doing a lot better Saturday, and yesterday we were able to visit the neighbors down the street. I worry about her, though, since she's 11 1/2 (that's 80 in people years).
