Modellpularn Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 (edited) Last Saturday the 5th of July I went to a custom car meet, about an hour's drive from Stockholm. The club Custom Kemps Of Sweden held their outdoor car show at the same time as the big Power Meet, but at a much quieter location. While walking around checking out cars, I almost froze in my tracks..... "This car looks just like the one I took a picture of in San Diego 1999!!" At the time we were driving around in a posh neighborhood, on our way to Point Loma I think it was.... Ferraris and Lambos, Porsches, Panteras were seen at every other driveway.... Somehow we got a bit lost and just drove around, trying to find the right way, when all of a sudden there's this cool '56 Ford parked outside a house! So I stopped the car, got my camera and shot a pic. Here's how it looked: And here it is in Sweden, minus the lake pipes and Foxcraft fender skirts..... Edited July 13, 2008 by Modellpularn
george 53 Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Nice ride Hans, an I'll betcha it's APPERICIATED alot more over in Sweden than it was over here! All though I do like it better with the skirts an pipes!.
CAL Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 That is interesting. I sent a car to Sweden, once. A rare Porsche RSR. Had to pick it up in New York, drive it to Chicago load it on a plane and send it off. Destination Sweden. It probably would have been a fun little journey. Fly to New York pick up a RSR and drive it halfway cross-country. If you don’t know a Porsche RSR was basically a factory racecar. It was gutted and striped of anything unnecessary to go fast. The unfortunate part of this little trip it was in December, and it was ###### cold. Not that these air-cooled Porsche had much heat to begin with, but this had nothing. No heat exchangers, no ducting. Nothing. Not even defrost. So what could have been a fun trip in the summer months was a dreadful experience. No heat, froze my ass off, could see out of the ###### thing cuz the windows keep frosting over, and noisy due to the complete lack of anything remotely close to insulation and the loud exhuast, which was all I heard for the next week ringing in my frost bit ears.

All though I do like it better with the skirts an pipes!. Yeah, I think so too, wonder why they were removed. Looks kind of tame now.... The story goes something like this: Someone of the Shifters car club built the car, it was sold and ended up over here in Sweden, where a guy from a club called Jokers owned it. Now it belongs to a girl and her boyfriend, but as he told me, it's her car! Isn't that cool?
george 53 Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 A CHICK owns it??!! Jeez Hans, It's probly got a NAME by now!!!!,She probly took the pipes off cause they were burnin her ankles!
