ckc1275 Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Hi all. quick question ... i am having troubles getting light colours (i.e. white, yellow, tan) getting good coverage over white plastic. I have tried primer (albeit grey), no primer, silver undercoat. I have tried more than one coat. Very unhappy with coverage. I am brushing with Testors enamels and Testors Model Master with no luck, would like to use airbrushing, but can't afford to purchase just yet so trying to make do with what i can get Any suggestions would be helpful. Working on my next project and everything else is turning out nicely with the body and frame being sprayed (Duplicolor rattle cans), just the engine and other parts not turning a nice solid colour for my liking. Thanks guys
plastic trucker Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Are you washing the plastic with mild soap and warm water?
Snake45 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Are you trying to hand-brush bodies, or are you talking about engines, interiors, detail parts, and so forth?
StevenGuthmiller Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Why not spray the engine & other small parts with a rattle can? It will give you better coverage, plus a much nicer job than brush painting. save the brushes for the small details. Steve
KWT Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Spray as much of the kit as you can. It gives good solid coverage. Use a brush to paint the details and small parts.
