Just wondering if a lot of you guys are buying cars from TDR,/Shape ways?Im still not sure if they are two separate companies,or are they one company.Anyway, their pro mod cars are outrageous, and their parts are fantastic.Yes there is sanding, but I think it's worth it.I bought one of their 70 Pro mod Nova's.Its a wild car.Great detail.I guess there great for slot cars too. 3D printing is it.

Shapeways just prints the file you send to them. TDR created the files for the bodies they offer and yes, they are fantastic. I looked at the '69 Camaro at a show and if I had not already spent most of the money I took to the show on kits, I would have bought it and the chassis kit too. One of these days.....

Aren't these bodies very rough? I think that in some of the threads on here I saw these bodies needing a looooot of work before paint...

Well yea, there is a lot of prepping/sanding,etc before painting the bodies.Again they are 3D printed. However they come in two types of material. But the "frosted, smooth" material is pretty expensive. So I just buy the other type. Then I sand and I sand......But as I said, I just think their pro mod bodies are really nice. The rougher cheaper material cars go for around $50-$60,depending on the body, and the scale. While the "good white frosted material" ones can cost a couple of hundred dollars. And I ain't shelling out no $200 for a model.:D.Just check them out,Shapeways.com.Great stuff.
