UPDATE 31.03.2018 : Chevelle SS-396

Finally got some progress AND some photos of the Revell 1967 SS-396 Chevelle I've been fiddling with . These are all pics of its Mark IV 396 --- mediocre cell phone photos at that ! 

I've attempted to capture the essence of an engine that's a few years old --note its aluminium heads-- by griming it up some ... hope that I've succeeded !

Exactly ! Hahahaha !  "Sweating" PCV and Breather grommets , too . Photos didn't capture the look all that well ...

Thanks much , Jeremy !  Working on finishing the interior next (and , yes , the engine will receive some touchups hear and there) . Left it in its as-moulded colour (Marina Blue) , but painted the carpet and package shelf in Tamiya Flat Blue ; the dash is detailed as well .

Photo #2 exhibits a bare (blue) plastic 'strip' between the exhaust ports ; however , this isn't the case on the finished product ! Not sure why that blue is there in the photo ... ?

UPDATE 31.03.2018 

Here's some pics of the completed interior . As-moulded-in colour ; most brightwork was accomplished with a Molotow pen , with the door panels' horizontal chrome strip being the only pieces done using Bare Metal Foil . I wanted to add some contrast to the Marina Blue seating , so I painted the carpet and the package tray shelf with Tamiya Flat Blue . Tiller is 'Rosewood' , as is the dashboard's upper-panel .

Too bad that the cell phone photos don't do this piece justice --- much , much nicer in person !

Great looking interior. I like how you are showing the engine with some ageing issues. One thing on your engine. The drivers side valve cover is on upside down. I don't know how hard it would be for you to remove and reposition it at this time with all of your engine detailing. The Big Blocks had four mounting blots on the bottom edge and three bolts on top. The notch in the Valve Cover is to clear the Power Brake Booster on the 1:1 but it may not be an issue on your build. I look forward to seeing your body and paint on this.

Thanks much for your advice I can't believe how I flubbed that left-side valve cover's position !  Oddly , the heads are side-specific in this kit , baring different part numbers from side-to-side . I even wrote the numbers on the heads' underside ( using the Molotow pen ) just so I could put them in their proper position . Additionally , the valve covers are also "keyed" from side-to-side so that they go on to their respective banks . If I had noticed the inaccuracy in regard to the left bank's V.C. pose , I would have simply sanded-off the mounting pins so that I could properly install the V.C. 

Unfortunately , those V.C.s are on that block ... no turning back now ! Hahahaha .
