I recently got a great box of parts on trade from a forum member and I’m finally getting a chance to start going through and taking a good inventory of all parts. I have quite a few already on a list but having a hard time Id-ing this hood... Its KW of course but what kit and model KW does it fit?

I can't give you any certainty, but just about every W900L conversion hood I've seen has been intended for either an RoG donor kit or the AMT W925.

That is a W900L conversion for the AMT T600 kit, that kit has the curved windshield where the Revell kit has the older V style windshield. I can't remember who made it but there should be two headlight bezels with it too.

I can help you with at least a partial identification of it, a part that needs to find its way to my house!!! :lol::lol:

I'm not sure of the maker of the hood, it does appear that it is for a later model KW like this one.

I would take a guess that it may have been part of an entire conversion kit for a later model W900L as in the pic above with the larger door windows, it could still be used to make an AMT T600 an older W900L just as I've been thinking of doing with this one to make a W900L, and if you notice the back of the AMT T600 hood you"ll see that same distinctive curved kick up at the back to match the newer style one piece curved windshields.

I was wanting to scratchbuild that hood . With all of the T600 kits I have kicking around I would like to do a W900L , can you post the height and width of the grille. Thanks Rick!

I had completely forgot about this post , thank you Doc , gives me exactly what I need to know! Do you still need the Peterbilt stuff?

That is a KW W900L hood that was originally mastered by Bill Drennen. It is designed to be used with the AMT Kenworth T600 kit only. Now there is a resin, more accurate KW cab that fits it though. It was sold by Clint Freeman and then by P&P Resin. Bobby Griffin cast a few as well.  It is now available from Jamie at Moluminum.com. This is actually Bill’s second master of this hood as the first release had no inner bracing. The one you have appears to have been cast by either Bobby Griffin or P&P Resin.
