tubbs Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 (edited) OK, for some cars, the directional signal lense is an amber color with a clear bulb like my 69 road runner. But, in some cars (I am referencing Mopar) like the 63 fury's, the lense is clear and the bulb is amber. I would like to hear and see, if possible what you all did to replicate this. I painted my 63 fury lights all amber, and no, just doesn't look right. what is worse, they come chrome plated. if there was a clear lense, it would be easy... obviously. thanks in advance. SfanGoch Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Using a #61 drill bit, make a dimple in the center of the turn signal. Paint the dimple with Metalizer Aluminum, let it dry and apply a small amount of Model Master Turn Signal Amber into the dimple. When that is dry, apply a light coat of gloss clear or Future over the signal lens.
ChrisBcritter Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Al, I know someone who has cast the ''63 Fury turn signals in clear resin - shall I check and see if he has a set? Of course you'd have to use foil or a Molotow chrome pen for the bezels.

I have done something close to this and worked quite well........and hey Al,don't you have something "red, white, and blue" you should be workin' on ?!?!?!
SfanGoch Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 If one wishes to get OCD, you can drill out the dimple, stretch a piece of clear sprue to the same diameter as the new fangled hole, polish the the tip, insert into the aforementioned hole, paint the tip with clear orange and VOILA! Ya got yerself a fancy-schmancy 1/25 scale turn signal bulb.
