Yup, flooded out again. Last time was 10 years ago. Only had about 2 feet this time instead of the 3 we had back in '08 but we were out of the house for twice as long as the flood water just did not want to go back down. we were supposed to have another day or two before it hit but it came early. we were up and bringing stuff up out of the basement at 2:30 AM Friday, two weeks ago. We got everything up just as the water started to seep on through the cracks in the foundation. [around 8:30 AM] and had to shut off the water and power and get out by 10:00 when the water started to surround the house.

Didn't loose much this time. Only one shelf unit fell over and it only had stuff on the top shelf. Unfortunately, my '69 Riviera, '61 Lincoln and custom '65 Lincoln hardtop was on that shelf. Cleaning up now so I didn't have a chance to check for missing pieces but I don't think being under flood water for 2 weeks did them any good.

Yeah, you maritimers have just been getting hammered this spring with the flooding! And in BC, the Okanagan area is getting a little freaked out about water levels too.

Glad you're okay!

That's terrible as we were flooded last year when our sump pump broke down. What a mess, and being up in age I had hired someone to clean out our crawl space. After taking everything out and putting it into a staging area in our garage and throwing out the really soggy stuff, they then proceeded to get rid of the water, sanitize the area and then set up a dehumidifier, and four fans to run 24 hours a day for 3 days straight. Talk about noise.

While we had three days before they came back, my wife and I had gone through all the stuff set out in the garage and ending up throwing a lot of stuff, maybe 60% or more. Then we bought containers for the rest of the stuff that was to be put back into the crawl space. They came back and removed their equipment, and put all our remaining stuff back into the crawl space. Of course we did have a plumber replace the sump pump with a new one also. Glad that fiasco is over with.
