novadose71 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Found a bunch of pics of some older builds today. Here's one of my favorites, from 9-10 years ago, Revellogram 427 cobra. Let's see if I can remember all I did to this one. I scratch built the windshield, lower frame with a strip of brass bent at down the middle and stretched on one side to meet the curve of the cowl, took a few tries to get right and "glass"from a blister pack. I wasn't happy with the kit supplied exhaust tips, so I cut them off, drilled into the muffler part and made new ones from K&S aluminum tube. I foil cast all the emblems, paint detailed them, and put a heaping coat of testors clear over them before gluing them on. I mixed a few different colors into Model Master Arctic Blue. It's one of the first 3 bodies I painted through my airbrush, and it layed out just like it is now, no clear, just waxed it to add gloss. I haven't been able to spray anything as nice since . While trying to apply them, I ended up destroying some of the kit stripe decals, so I salvaged what I could, and came up with a scheme, and for whatever reason I added the chrome tape stripes on either side of them and it's the only thing I don't like about it besides the yellowing epoxy on the gauges. Other than that I think it's pretty much OOB. Thanks for stoppin'
Nick F40 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Always will love this car. I love the paint scheme, how'd you do it? Great details
Daniel Peterson Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Man that's a squeaky clean build! Wow! I love it.
cruz Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 I did one of these too and thought it was a wonderful kit! You did a terrific job on that one my friend!
