Most dark metal, thrash, or whatever this genre is called all sound alike with the growly voices. Yeah, I'm 54 years old and I still give the newer stuff a listen. novadose71 Posted July 31, 2008 Share Posted July 31, 2008 OMHO They have definitely changed their sound(on this song at least), It's crunchier and more structured, not as frantic as I like to hear from Slipknot, and they brought some of the Stone Sour sound over too. I'll have to pick up the new CD soon, I have all the rest back to Mate,Feed,Kill, Repeat. Great stuff(not the foam in a can either ). Kevin, nobody messed up any section! A few people complained that their poor delicate sensibilities were "Offended" by an organized and polite discussion about subjects they would rather not spend any time worring about. Therefore the moderator was forced to change the rules and ultimately shut down the Rants and Raves section. Thusly reducing this wonderful forum, originally set up "FOR THE MEMBERS", to talk about ONLY plastic toys instead of adult conversations. If I am not able to discuss real life while you are free to post about music I have no interest in... or Joe Blow feels free to post about his bypass surgery or dead dog. Then I am going to complain and make a fuss. Because the result is that this forum will soon be going the way of the SAE forum. Not because Gregg has come down heavy handed, no, to his credit he allowed the discussion to continue for a long time! No, I fault the few limited and shallow minds here on this forum who felt that freedom of speech was something they didn't like and therefor complained. This has happened on almost every forum I've been on and usually the only way to get rid of political rants is to make it perfectly clear in the title of the forum section that they are not allowed. Political rants always lead to fights, lost friendships and someone wanting to quit the forum. I've always gone by the philosophy "if you dont like it then dont read it" and left it with that. At the same time this is a scale model forum, not a gas prices forum, not a George Bush Sucks forum, and not a No war in Iraq forum.....Its a scale model forum. I believe the fine folks on here give everyone on here more than enough space to rant and go off topic. Lets not take advantage of it...... If we all tried to get things removed because we disagree with it, there would be nothing to read or talk about. On this forum, people even disagree with types of modeling and car genre. When does it stop? When the head mod finally tires of it and pulls the plug altogether? I don't think anyone wants that. Just don't read the things you have no interest in. No, I come back every few days, sometimes weeks, instead of every few hours. Now that I know this thread isn't my cup of tea I don't feel the need to read it again. Isn't that easy?
