kyleaustin81 Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 I was told when i bought my 79 - 80 olds resin body that the monte chassis would fit it .... Did i miss something cause it does not fit at all im trying to build the #11 cale olds but it has a fitment issue what did i miss.... Its way too tall ?
MrObsessive Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Not that familiar with NASCAR but which scale Monte are you trying to use? If it's the 1/24 Monogram Monte Carlo one you're going to have trouble as it is too big. The MPC ones may fit better as they're 1/25, but once again I'm just looking at the scales and not the actual model.
bbowser Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Another issue might be the resin body. Resin casts are generally a lot thicker than the same thing in styrene. You may need to thin it out in places in order to fit a chassis.
MrObsessive Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Ugggh, the 'ole resin dust! If you have to do that MAKE SURE you have a good respirator on! That stuff in your lungs can be nasty!
kyleaustin81 Posted July 6, 2018 Author Posted July 6, 2018 Ive seen guys put the revellogram 80s gm chassis under them ...... Guess they did thin em out lol
