Bushpounder Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 I just spotted the AMT Coca Cola trailer was just released. Does anyone know if this is a 40 or a 53 footer? I can't find that anywhere! Thanks! BP
Force Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 (edited) It's an old AMT kit from the early 70's so it's a 40 footer. The only 53 foot trailers I know of in model form are the Moebius dry goods and reefer trailers. Edited July 14, 2018 by Force
Bushpounder Posted July 17, 2018 Author Posted July 17, 2018 Thank you, Force. That makes total sense. BP Don
Art Anderson Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 That old AMT plated 40' tank trailer actually did exist, IN Coca-Cola livery, back in the 70's. Here in Lafayette, IN, Annheuser-Busch built a corn sweeter plant, which opened about 1971. Their biggest customer? Coca-Cola! There was a contract trucking company here as well, their tractors were Coca-Cola Red, tank trailers were highly polished stainless steel with the Coke "wave" and logo in Coca-Cola Red as wel. One thing for sure: We NEVER saw those rigs here, in any condition but brilliantly washed and polished as soon as they came in to the terminal, and they loaded, and left for Atlanta GA exactly that way as well.
