HEY GUYS, ALOT OF YOU MAY KNOW THE WORK OF DIRK JOSEPH....AND SOME OF YOU MAY NOT. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE MET DIRK AT A LOCAL MODEL SHOW. DIRK HAS BECOME THE CONSUMATE FRIEND, TEACHER AND BROTHER. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO KNOW DIRK...YOU KNOW HE IS A VERY MODEST MAN AND NEVER, NEVER TOOTS HIS OWN HORN. HE IS ALWAYS THERE TO TEACH ANYONE "HOWD YOU DO THAT". I SPEAK TO DIRK PRETTY MUCH ON A DAILY TO WEEKLY BASIS, AND EVERYTIME I DO AND LISTEN TO HIM EXPLAIN HIS TIPS AND TECHNIQUES ON WHAT EVER MODEL HE MAY BE WORKING ON.....MAN OH MAN....IT JUST BLOWS ME AWAY. DIRK HAS NO IDEA THAT I AM POSTING THIS AND HE PROBABLY WOULDNT WANT ME TO... BUT SO MUCH OF WHAT HE BUILDS...TO BE HONEST IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR YOU COULD NEVER REALLY APPRECIATE OR RECOGNIZE ALL OF THE ENGINEERING, DESIGN AND CRAFTSMANSHIP THAT GOES INTO ONE OF HIS CREATIONS. WHEN YOU GO TO HIS FOTKI PAGE LOOK AT THE LATEST PROJECTS HE HAS GOING ON A 66 CHEVELLE AND A 1:12 DRAG BIKE. THEN HOPEFULLY THE NEXT TIME YOU MAY BE AT A MODEL SHOW AND COME ACROSS A DIRK JOSEPH ENTRY.....TAKE A REAL GOOD LOOK...THATS WHEN THE MAGIC STARTS....ENJOY.

Hey Gregg...don't worry I'm still a nice guy  I hope to see you soon, with the move from up north, and my semi-retirement :) , been a lil hard to catch up with you. But don't you fret...if I don't see you at a show, when my wife and myself get over to the islands....I will let you know Bra!!! I just wanted people to see his work and if I know Dirk he would want people to get ideas, maybe try something new...to take that risk. On a side note, in the GENERAL section a topic has been started I think by member "HARRYPRI" on lathes/mills...all of Dirks work was done on a Sherline set up...if a Sherline was good enough for the late/great Mr. Augie Hiscano, and good enough for Dirk Joseph...its good enough for me.

Plus, he's a great guy, kinda like this guy from NY I used to know.....

He really is a nice guy. Had the pleasure of meeting him in Atlanta at the ACME NNL.

If you get a chance....take a real good look at the 1:12 Drag Bike...it is about 99% scratchbuilt. That means...frame, engine, pulleys, cogs, forks, farings, rims, even the tires. It really takes enginering abilities, and a very keen eye to make so many scratch built pieces come together so nicley, to have everything so proportionate, to have all tolerances so exact and then to put it all together cleanly. Take a look B)
