iamsuperdan Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Talking to my dad over the weekend, and he mentioned that he wanted to build a replica of the first car they had after moving to Canada. Interesting, as he builds boats and planes, hasn't done a a car in decades. So I'm going to try nad source everything he needs for his birthday. From what I can tell a 1962 Biscayne 2-door has never been kitted. I've done some searching, and other than the now defunct Modelhaus, I haven't been able to find a seller, except for some EBay guys. Does anyone know of a source for a resin Biscayne? And if so, what kit would be used as the base? I'm thinking the Revell 62 Impala. THanks! Dan
rickcaps55 Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Hi you can use the AMT 62 Belair the only real deference is in the trim witch can be changed out easy the AMT has the bubble top if your Dad had the sadden roof you can go to MCW Dave Doge he does the Biscayne with sadden roof his resin kits are very good I have bin building his kits for over 12 years now and his kit uses the AMT Belair as the doner kit. gbt216 Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 To expand on the answer above, here's a link to MCW Automotive finishes: http://www.mcwautomotivefinishes.com/resin/resinlist.html and a picture of their built '62 Biscayne using the AMT '62 Bel Air HT kit as a donor. The MCW kit lists for $34 on their website. gt
