andy12646 Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 I have an AMT 68 El Camino kit that I would like to build as a "standard" model, not the SS version as supplied. My problem is how to modify the hood to eliminate the two "humps". They are recessed on the underside therefore I'm thinking on some type of filler then sanding the top surface. What would be the best filler to use? Or does someone have a better method?
Casey Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Buy this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Resin-25th-1968-69-Chevrolet-Chevy-Chevelle-BASE-hood-by-missing-link/292622526358?hash=item4421a96796%3Ag%3AtFMAAOSwDiBZOHn3&_sacat=2580&_nkw=chevelle+flat+hood&_from=R40&rt=nc&_blrs=category_constraint&LH_TitleDesc=0
Mark Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Is that hood for the newer El Camino kit, or the AMT Chevelle kits? Unfortunately the two differ in width just a bit, I believe a hood made for one will not fit the other...
andy12646 Posted July 24, 2018 Author Posted July 24, 2018 Thanks, Casey! I had no idea this would be available. I plan on ordering it. And Mark, Thanks for your information and concern. Greatly appreciated!
