LVZ2881 Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 used kit decals with this one. left them taped to a window for over a month, and there were still yellowed. so i built it anyways. I built this kit because I had never before built a "Ford" style chassis, so I wanted to get familiar with one. They are not quite as easy to build as the "GM" chassis' are... I couldnt get the front of the chassis to sit flush at all. It appears there is a fit issue between the dash and windshield that I didnt know about until final assembly. plus assembling the front cage around the engine pushed the front of the chassis down, raising the front ride height even more. Oh Well, I know for next time.. I used resin "5-hole" wheels from Danny Tarpley, and I have never worked with resin before, so that was a first. They were extremely easy to use. Thanks DannyT!!! Tamiya Pure white and clear, powerslide tire decals.
ricky12 Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 still looks good and if you learned from your problems it was well worth it then .
Slim Louis Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I think it looks excellent! What year would this be from, and does the sunlight take the yellow out of old decals? Great job on this baby!
LVZ2881 Posted August 6, 2008 Author Posted August 6, 2008 I think it looks excellent! What year would this be from, and does the sunlight take the yellow out of old decals? Great job on this baby! Ford ran these bricks in '81 and '82, not sure what year this car represents. and sunlight is supposed to take th yellow out of the decals. I left in my window for over a month hoping that was the case. I think the problem is that you need direct sunlight, and I dont have direct sunlight on any of my windows.
Slim Louis Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Interesting about the decals! Never heard that one before. Can you post some chassis shots, pleeeeze, top and bottom! Thanks! Slim the Chassis Guy
