I went ahead and cut down the inner bed sides because they'll just be in the way later. I also made a new bulkhead and a filler piece for the rear of the bed under the floor.

And here is the bed all mocked up.

VERY COOL!! and very well thought out!! Will be following this project!! Oh! I would go with the (middle paint can in photo) with a cream white. Now that's the 50's
