JAFFA Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 (edited) There's actually a '71 which was put out by Model King a while back............they're all over eBay in the U.S. Not up on my T-Birds of that era, but the differences seem minimal to my view. Dang, i gots to get my hands on one o those, pity that the shipping costs from Sweden to the U.S. for a box of modelcar-size is at about $45... Edited August 11, 2008 by JAFFA
JAFFA Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 There is this Lincoln MK II Kit.... I didn't build this model, but it came from this Kit, which I have - Revell's SSP Kit Series..... I've seen that one, would love one for the cahssis-engine to detail my Futura, ok, i know, it's not the 357, but it's better than "whatnot" is molded in there on the original Futura kit...
Ron Hamilton Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 The Lincoln Mark series, III, IV, V has been a car that I have been close to, as my dad had a '71, a '72, a '74, and a '77. In my opinion, the '71 was the best car out of the bunch. The '74 was a special car to me, as my Dad let me pick out the color combination (Dark Blue/Silver Blue roof/Dark Blue interior), and that was the car I drove on prom night. The AMT '69 Thunderbird kit would be the best basis for a Mark III, as they were on the same platform, and the '69 T-Bord kit roof has no adornment on the sail panels. It would not be a project for the faint of heart. The Mark IV and Mark V basis could be the Arii '73 Thunderbird, with a lot of work. One of the board members was doing a '74 Mark IV conversion, which was a killer. I would love to see it in resin.
JAFFA Posted August 28, 2008 Author Posted August 28, 2008 I did see a couple resin kits on Ebay a while back as well, a -58 mk III convertible, and a -70 Funny car, but cheap as i am, 50$ is more than i want to pay for a single kit...

You cannot use the Continental chassis for the Futura because the Conti is approx 1/32 scale and the Futura is approx 1/25. Unless of course you fancy upping the scale and scratch building, bit of a project but worth it in my opinion. John
rollinoldskoo Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 the lowrider homies got some of these in the works http://www.layitlow.com/forums/index.php?s...425782&st=0 I just need to finish tail lights abd grill on the T-Bird ! First car i evey had rollin white walls and them fake chrome wire's that bolted on the chrome smoothie wheels ! MrObsessive Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 I'd definitely LOVE a model of this '77 Lincoln!.................. That was one of my favorite cars back when they were new!
george 53 Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Bill I second that! I went to the Lay it Low website an saw no info on it.Where do you order them and how much? They'd be pretty good sellers IMHO!
MrObsessive Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 I dunno George.................I hope they're not "eBay only" items and are actually for sale retail. I agree they would be hot sellers if given stock and lowrider parts!

My dad had a White on White one, and my uncle had a Frost Green on Jade one, with the upgraded Jade interior and sun roof. I may go for one or two of those.
