FactoryStock54 Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Fantastic! (From another lover of all-things Stude)
studebot Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Really nice job! Did sportmens have a back bumper, or did they have round tubing for a bumper? I vaugly remember a guy getting his 57 chev out the garage sat nite and put it on the trailer, open headers!!!!!!!!! Man that thing took a lick"in
Slim Louis Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 The speedway cars tried to protect there gas tanks(cells) and radiators with some more or less aero dynamic protection. The short track guys used round, or square tubing, truck or Edsel bumpers, you name it. Take a look at my reference section in my Fotki, and you can see the examples. The wonderful thing of modeling vintage race cars, is that you will find a prototype for darn near everything! Check it out! http://public.fotki.com/slimlouis/reference-pictures/
