‘67 Chevelle Pro Street - WIP

[Hotrod 97]

I decided to try something a little different and build a race car. This is an AMT ‘67 Chevelle Pro Street.

 

Here is what I’m starting with.

That's actually a pretty cool kit. The tubbed chassis alone is great! Not a real AMT fan, but this kit goes together well

Got the engine partially assembled and ready for paint.

I got the engine painted today. Now I’ll give it a couple days to cure, then onto detailing.

Transmission is painted. Tomorrow I’ll work on the engine assembly.

The engine is coming along good. I also got the headers assembled and ready for paint tomorrow.

Great to hear, Ron. It’s kinda box stock but - I put the street rod air filters and velocity stacks on the engine, I’ll leave the hood scoop off but still cut a hole in the hood, and I found some Outlaw II’s in the parts bin that I’ll put on it.

Didn’t do much on the engine today. Got the chassis and some interior pieces painted.

Looking good,what color are you looking to paint the body?In the past,I've used that chassis,(tubs),and roll cage on a 66 Chevelle.Came out pretty good if I remember correctly.I Like the 67,and love the 66 Chevelle.

I plan to paint it Testors De Ja Blue. That’s good to know about the chassis and roll cage!

Beautiful! May I ask where you got the Cowl hood from?

Check out Lex's modeling.They have a big selection of Outlaw/cowl hoods.This is the hood for the 67 Chevelle.

Thank you Ron. I did check out Lex’s Modeling - wow, such a selection! My original plan was to put a Cowl hood on the Chevelle, but for this build I decided to go with air filters sticking out of the hood.

Got back to work on the Chevelle. As I said in an earlier post, I found some Outlaw II’s in my parts bin that I’ll put on it.
