  1. Got these cool kits today. The Da Vinci clock is a wooden kit, I found it at Hobby Lobby. The music box is a wooden kit, and the Strandbeest is a plastic kit. I found both of them on Amazon. I think I might go with a Steampunk theme for all of them...
  2. Nice lookin CJ. All you need is a truck, and you’ll be ready for race day 🙂
  3. That is beautiful. Does it sound as nice as it looks?
  4. The famous jet truck known as “Shockwave”, after about 3 1/2 decades of entertainment, made its last run this past Saturday. The fiery crash happened on Saturday, July 2 during the Field of Flight Air Show at Battle Creek Field, Michigan. Neither the truck, nor the driver, survived. Here’s a link to an article with some more information: https://jalopnik.com/driver-dies-in-jet-truck-crash-at-michigan-airshow-1849144522 Condolences and prayers to Chris’ family, and all who were affected by the event.
  5. Wow - that’s awesome! From what I found (quick search), I agree about them being legit. Looks like they got some neat stuff, too.
  6. Nice little Nissan. Looks good in that color.
  7. Yep, that’s the one. Being on the Eastern side of the map, I haven’t heard about them until I discovered their website. So, any info is much appreciated.
  8. That beauty definitely belongs in a museum - it looks just like the real thing! Congrats on the museum showcase!
  9. I just found this website the other day. If anyone needs or wants the link, I can get you it. Has anyone ordered anything from them? I just want to know if shipping is good. Oh, and if they’re legit 😁 Thanks in advance
  10. Here's a neat article that I found. A '65 Shelby with an interesting story to tell. Just wanted to share this with y'all. https://www.torqtalk.com/home/worlds-fastest-200mph-silver-bullet-65-shelby-mustang-gt350r
  11. Are you on Facebook? They have a group made for the airport. The first time we went down there was the event after JJ's race, and we didn't know it. I remember watching that episode of Street Outlaws and thinking "hey, that's the airport at Berkeley Springs!" lol
  12. Yep, that's the one! Potomac Airpark, IIRC.
  13. Actually yesterday, but I took my F150 down to the drag races. There's a no-prep track down in WV that Dad and I go to often. Well, yesterday was the first time that I actually ran instead of just watched. Didn't run any classes, just test passes. Anyways, the real pleasing thing is that I almost outran a Chrysler 300 (SRT8, maybe? Not exactly sure, I just know it had some horsepower). The Chrysler only got me by half a car, which is a milestone for my ol' truck (both of us made clean passes). Last year the truck couldn't keep up to SUVs, now she holds her own against performance cars. I guess I should add that we did some work to it over the winter, so it's a bit different from what it was last year.
  14. I have the honor of being the Photographer for my Uncle’s wedding! I’ve been dabbling in photography for a while, and this will be my first official work. Needless to say, I’m pretty excited about it!
  15. Behold, my prizes for the day... A bottle of Blue Rocket traction compound for all the no-prep races that we'll run in this year. And I found a neat-lookin book at Ollie's. Since I'm a guitarist who likes to listen to the classics, it just had to come home with me 🙂
  16. That is one kewl truck. Looks good in that color. I can almost hear it rumbling down the 1/4 mile...
  17. I like it! Nice build, and interesting concept!
  18. Street Outlaw and No-Prep Kings racer Wayne Smozanek, driver of the “Tropical Thunder” Ford Probe, has passed away on Saturday. Another good racer has left us. Rest In Peace, Wayne. Best wishes and prayers to the family. https://www.dragzine.com/news/street-outlaws-racer-wayne-smozanek-passes/
  19. If we’re getting technical here, I learned to drive in the many different farm trucks that we had over the years (I grew up on a dairy farm) and our Kawasaki Mule 610. I learned to drive on the road in my Dad’s 2002 Ford F-250. And, I took the road test for my driver’s license in my Grandmother’s 2008 Ford Escape. When I got my learner’s permit, my grandmother got a new car and gave the ‘08 Escape to me for learning how to drive. Fast forward a while, and that same Escape is still my daily driver.
  20. I made a new friend today. I found a throttle body for my ‘97 F150 on Craigslist a few days ago, so my dad and I went to pick it up today. The guy was going to use the throttle body for his F250, but it was the wrong type. So, of course, we got to talking about cars and racetracks, and his trucks, and my truck, and stuff like that. Turns out, this guy has a full-size F250 (crew cab long bed) with a built 7.3 under the hood that runs mid-13s in the quarter mile, and he has a ‘16 F250 show truck that had it’s own feature in a diesel magazine. He built and tuned both trucks himself, and they’re both pushing north of 500hp. Certainly not someone you get to meet everyday, meant in the best of ways.
  21. No pics, but I saw a tractor-trailer load of C8 Corvettes on I-81 today. They were all covered in white protective wrapping, so I couldn’t tell ya what colors they were...
  22. It's been raining here since last night. That's good, because most of the snow melted! Just hope we don't the snow that they're calling for this evening...
  23. Saw these at the local transmission shop today. The transmission in my Grandmother's truck took a dump earlier in the week, and the shop had it done today. Is the 'Stang a Mach 1?
